Jigsaw Puzzle (or Trisha vs Burda Round 1)

I started with my first sewing project this month. You know, the gray suuuper soft jersey dress. Ok, it’s a print-out pattern I bought via burdastyle.de. It was more of a 37 pages jigsaw puzzle for seamstresses, let me tell you *haha* I am really looking forward to the actual sewing part.

So, here are a few things I found out while paper crafting my pattern:

  • I lost more weight than I thought o.O It seems like I have to sew it even 1 size smaller than I thought. Awesome! At least one good thing that came from my tummy bug last week.
  • Burda patterns will never stop to confuse me. Throw any kind of pattern at me, I understand it: Simplicity, Ottobre, Butterick, you name it… but Burda and I don’t speak the same language :D We always have to battle first until we finally know what we want from each other. Oh well…
  • The dress is longer than I thought. I think I have to shorten it a lot. It looked so much shorter on the model o.O Maybe I should pay more attention to the little box next to the instructions saying “this garment is xyz cm long” -.-
  • Should I leave out the zipper? I mean, seriously, it’s a jersey dress… I don’t need a zipper, do I? The reason why I am asking is because I am to lazy to sew one in I don’t have one that is long enough.. grr

Liebe Grüße, TrishArgh
